2019 Reflection

So 2019 is coming to it’s inevitable end and honestly I’m not sure how to feel about that. I had intended to write a poem. But with everything that has happened this year both personally and in the world at large I’m not really sure where to start.

So here is my overall reflection on 2019: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!

Whew, glad I got that out of my system. In truth 2019 has been a really stressful year, I got a promotion at work which has been a lot more work then I thought it would be. The political situation has only gotten more crazy and polarized. And a lot of the fandoms I’m apart of have started to become polarized as well. I’ve even had to leave some of those communities for the sake of my mental health.

But the end of one opportunity is the start of another. So I’m trying to look at this as an opportunity to have more time to play other video games and work on other projects like my writing.

And as long as we’re on the topic of projects I’ll be carrying over some of my projects to 2020. I’ve been working on another book called Lost Sun and that’s been coming along nicely. I hope to have that done by this time next year–but one never knows how long a writing project is going to take.

I’ve also been working on my own table top rpg and I’ve been really excited about that. Though that’s been a little harder then I thought it would be. But I’ve been determined to get that up and running.

And last but not lest my “Worlds” Project that I’m going to be posting more of here. That’s something that I’ve been looking forward to working on. But I’ve been having a bit of a hard time coming up with good idea’s for it. I hope to tell you more about this particular project in 2020 once I’ve gotten the details hammered down.

On a more personal note I’ve been having a lot of fun with Table Top RPGs this year and I’m finally starting to read more as well. So I hope that next year brings more fun personal changes as well. I keep thinking that I might actually be able to get to my video game back log as well. But who knows how 2020 is going to play out. Not me that’s for sure.

See everyone in 2020.

Blog Journal, Twas the Blog Before Christmas

Hello everyone, the end of the year has started to turn into a haze and it’s honestly been more then a little overwhelming. I’ve really fallen behind on getting these blog journals done and that’s put a lot of pressure on me which makes me not want to work on the blog journals. Oh the joys of life.

Anyways, I did manage to still get a lot done this year. All the writing experiments and the poems. And even starting to write blog journals as well. A lot of projects fell by the wayside as I lost motivation to work on them. But even from those I’ve learned a lot about how to best work on projects and stay motivated to accomplish them.

As some of you may have seen I’ve started working on a new project here. I intend to work on this more next year and I hope you will take the time to read them as they come out.

I also started another book, a story I’m calling Lost Sun. My last book didn’t get published so it’s really just sitting on a shelf somewhere–but that’s okay–I’ve been really excited working on Lost Sun. As of yet I have not released any sort of excerpts from my book here on this blog, and I’m not sure I will. But I do intend to keep sharing my progress with you as I keep working on it. Currently I’m working on chapter 8 and considering I just started working on this book in late fall that’s quite a bit of progress.

I have written so many poems this year…honestly I’m surprised at myself. Over 130 poems were posted on my blog this year. That’s amazing that I could write that many.

I also have 180 blog followers, 1 email follower, and 60 social media followers for a total of 241 followers. In the grand scheme of things that’s nothing, I know that. But I’m so proud that I could have gotten even that many. And I am thankful to all of you for reading this one crazy persons writing on the internet.

I’m going to take things a little easier these last few days of 2019, the last few day’s of the decade. But I do intend to have a reflection of some kind up before the year ends, so look forward to that.

Let us all meet again in the new decade.

Sunshine Blogger Award

Hello everyone, we interrupt your regularly scheduled blog posts to bring you this special announcement. I’ve been nominated for a Sunshine Blogger Award by Ishaan from Ishaan’s Blog. I very much appreciate your thoughtfulness as I have never been considered for these kinds of things before. Again, thank you for thinking of me.
Ishaan is a writer of both fiction and poetry who has an immersive and vivid writing style.

Unfortunately due to time and personal constraints I have decided not to participate. As some of you know I have ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder). The Sunshine Blogger Award is about spreading happiness and motivation, but the thought of participating in this kind of event makes me anything but happy and motivated. These things just tend to exhaust me, I know for some of you that doesn’t make any kind of sense. All I would have to do is answer some questions and nominate eleven other people. But for me, right now, that would be like climbing mount Everest. People and interactions, even through the internet make me nervous and tiered most of the time.

This is a hobby blog, and for me to keep motivated I need to make sure everything I do on here is fun and interesting for me. And the thought of having to respond to this nomination has been nerve wracking, not fun. I hope none of you are offended, this kind of an award is important, and should not be overlooked. I just can’t do it right now.

If you want to learn more about what the Sunshine Blogger award is about check it out here. And you should defiantly check Ishaan who nominated me.
Thank you so much, I’m sorry I couldn’t participate.

Blog Update 11/25/19

Hello everyone, more of a blog update then a blog journal today. Thanksgiving is coming up and I am feeling a little burned out. So I’m going to just have one poem this week and I’m going to take the rest of the week off from blogging. If I have the energy I might do some reblogs of some of my old stuff to fill the space.

Honestly I’ve been trying to branch out more to write a wider array of things. But I’ve been struggling to come up with anything that would work in this format. I even thought about doing podcasts of some-kind since wordpress has the functionality for that. But it would just be one more thing I have to worry about on a weekly biases.

In addition I’ve been working on my book, and while that’s a fun writing project I hesitate to post any excerpts from my book here. Maybe I’m just paranoid about that sort of thing.

At the end of the day I’m one person with a full time job and a lot of other side projects so this sort of burn out is probably something I should expect to happen and have a back up plan for, like maybe some kind of bank of poems I can pull from to post during times when I just can’t get my act together to write.

Oh well the tl;dr is, only one poem his week, maybe I’ll do some re-blogging of some old stuff if I have the energy.

Until we meet again everyone.

Blog Journal 11/8/19

Hello everyone, today I’m going to share with you a few writing updates. Nothing major going on in terms of my writing. And the adult working life had been taking up the rest of my time. Now that I have a few day’s I’ve taken off for my wedding anniversary I want to spend most of that time with my wife.

Book Progress is slow but steady

Part of me wishes I could be as fast a writer as those NANOWRAMO people. Writing a whole book in the month of November is a minor miracle considering it takes me the better part of two years to write a full book. Maybe Lost Sun won’t take as long as the first book I wrote. But I’m only on chapter 4 so things are not looking good on that front. According to my computer the file for Lost Sun was created on August 19th so that’s at 2 months and only 4 chapters in. Yeah a full book in a single month would kill me.

The Cull of other writing projects

As I continue to make progress on both my book and my table top RPG system I’ve needed to cut down on more side projects. These projects were not something I’ve really talked about here so nothing really major. But it was really hard for me to convince myself that those writing project needed to be canned so I could focus on the projects that I actually wanted to get done. In the process of working on those projects I created–and then deleted a whole other blog….

Games and things

With Pokemon Sword and Shield coming out soon I’ve had a hard time concentrating on other things. I did pick up a game called Digimon Cyber Sleuth but I doubt I’ll finish it before the new Pokemon game comes out and that’s taking up all my time. Gosh I hope I can find the wherewithal to work on my writing during that time.

That’s everything for this week everyone. Until we meet again.

Blog Journal 10/25/19

Hello everyone, I’ve been struggling getting these blog journals out on time. And with life in general but we won’t worry about that just yet. I can’t seem to get these done on time for whatever reason. And so I think I am going to rearrange the schedule yet again.

New Scheduale

This is what my new blog schedule is going to be: I will be posting Blog journals on Friday’s from now on. Re-blog Friday is going to become re-blog Monday. Micro stories and short stories will come out on Tuesdays and Thursdays instead of a poem, meaning you might get a poem, a micro story, or a short story on those days. In addition I am going to be writing Blog Journals every other week instead of every week. I might post other things on Friday if I catch the bug, and I could always use the big Wednesday sized hole in the schedule for something as well, who knows. All of these changes are in connection to something that I’ve realized lately, read on to learn more.

My Sleep Schedule is Terrible

I went thought the whole day yesterday feeling like crap because I usually only get 6 hours of sleep at night. This is good for my writing–but really bad for my health. And I need to lower my cholesterol as well and I have been told that getting more sleep is a good place to start.

This means I’m going to have to work hard on adjusting how I work on projects and how much time I spend doing things like playing video games and reading. There is only so much time in the day, and I need to start working on getting my 8 hours.

Current Projects and Changes

I am currently in the process of reviewing all my writing projects that I’ve been working on in light of my new revaluations. I don’t think I need to make any changes to anything yet–but it’s hard to say for sure. I’ve been making good progress on my book and I want to keep working on that, but there really isn’t a time-limit on when that needs to get done so I think I can slow that down in favor of focusing on some of my other projects.

I’ve been designing my own Table Top RPG as frequent visitors may know. And I have some people lined up to help me play-test. Getting that done is gong to have to be a priority for me right now since I will need to start testing that right away and the only way I can is to have my D&D group help me when the current game I’m running ends.

This also means that I’m going to have to slow down on some of the longer short stories I’ve been working on if I want get some of my longer projects done. This might also help to explaining why I will be doing Blog Journals every other week now.

A few Other Things

As the holidays approach I need to have realistic expectation about what I will get done during that time. The new Pokemon games are also coming out of the 15th of November and so there might be a slow down in content during that time. I don’t know for sure how this will effect the upload schedule, if I could predict these things I would but sometimes I write poems ahead of time and schedule them far enough in advance where it isn’t even a big worry. And then other times I write the poem or story that day and post it. So just be warned, I don’t know what’s going to happen with that.

For Fun

I started playing “Digimon Story CyperSleuth” It’s been a nostalgia trip and I think I will try to play that game up until the new Pokemon games come out. It will give me something to do and focus on until then. I have not gotten any more reading done. But I think that will go better once I get my sleep schedule in order.

That’s everything I have for now….

Until we meet again.

Blog Journal 10/11/19

Hello everyone, as you may have noticed it’s Friday and I am writing my blog journal today instead of on Wednesday. Honestly I got distracted working on one of my projects the table top rpg I’m designing and as such forgot that I needed to write a blog journal until latter. Not a big deal over all but I have no idea how many of you actually look forward to reading these so I tend not to stress out about it to much.

As you might have guessed I’ve mostly recovered from being sick though there are a few lingering symptoms that I’m working through. Once I’m back up to 100% I should really remember to get my flu shot. Maybe if I write it down here I won’t forget.

Poems, Micro Stories, and blogs

As some of you might have noticed I have started writing micro stories (or maybe just short, short stories, I’m a little unsure of the definitions) you can check out my first one here. All in all I liked how it turned out and I want to write more of these, but I’m not really sure show to optimize my schedule and creative time with this new addition to my repertoire. I could write micro stories and then write one less poem that week. Or I could write two poems and a micro story–but honestly I’m not sure how to is going to feel on my end considering the whole point of only doing two poems a week is to keep myself from burning out. I’ll let you guys know what I’m going to do about that next week. But for now enjoy the new posts you’ll be getting.

Other Projects

As I said earlier I got distracted working on my Table Top RPG system that I’ve been designing. And so that’s coming along nicely. But due to that not a lot of progress has been made on the book I’ve been working on writing. Honestly I’m not really sure which of these two major projects I should be prioritizing. So it seems like each week I end up working more on when then the other–then I wonder if I should have been working on the other project instead. Maybe one day I will understand how to manage time properly–but it is not this day.

What have I been reading and playing

I’ve finally gotten around to doing some reading, and I’ve been working my way though the Hundred Thousand Kingdoms by N.K. Jemisin it’s good so far but I’ll have to wait until I’ve made my way all the way though to know for sure.

I’ve been playing a lot of games since I was so sick over the past few weeks. I’ve been working my way though another play-though of Pokemon Sun, I’ve been trying to find time to play Fire Emblem Three Houses, and I even took a crack at this new RPG called Indivisible (no relation to the political movement group).

I think that’s going to have to be all from me for now. But I do intend on blogging for re-blog Friday as I always do. Have a good weekend and I’ll talk to you next week.

Blog Journal 10/2/19

Hello everyone, so I am sick this week and don’t have a lot of physical or mental energy to spear to work on these sorts of things. As such this blog journal is going to be short and sweet without much of the usual information. You also might notice a lot of spelling errors as the first thing that goes when I’m tired is my spelling.

Everything’s Going Well–Other then Being Sick….

I’ve been working on my book still and I’m still only on the second chapter. But I’m having a lot of fun with it. I have a bunch of short story projects that I’ve been working on. But nothing that’s ready to be published yet. I had hoped to have my White Witch story ready to post on this blog this week. But due to me being sick I doubt very much that’s going to happen.

All my poems are pre-scheduled on this blog so you will see those appear on the Tuesday and Thursday dates regardless of how far behind I get on other things while struggling with my cold.

That’s going to have to be everything for now. I’ll update you guys on my other weekly stuff once this cold has been kicked to the curb.

Have a good week!

Blog Journal 9/15/19

Hello again everyone everything’s been going going well lately and nothing of any amount of stress to report. This is going to be a bit of a short one since there really isn’t much to say about this week (I’m starting to notice a trend).

Reblog Friday

Some of you may have noticed already but I am starting something called reblog Friday, where I reblog a poem that I had posted here sometime ago. I think it’s going to be fun to look back at some of my past posts. I may include a little reflection on the poem as well including some incite as to what I had been thinking at the time. These will always be on Friday, I was thinking of having them be on Monday, but I think for now that will continue to be a dead day in terms of posting.

Project and book updates

I have made very little progress on my book this week. That being said I have been working on some short stories and I have launched a new blog. However I’m not going to provided a link to that blog just yet. The reason? Well the blog is for short stories connected to my esoteric Table Top Rolplaying universe. And many of the characters and plots there require the context of having played in some of my games. I will cross post, or reblog any stories that I think might be worth your time if you’re a reader of this blog.

What have I been Reading and Playing Lately

I’m ashamed to say I still have not had time to do any reading. However I have a few books now that I want to read when I get a chance. I’ve also only been working on my play-through of Pokemon Ultra Sun as far as video games go, so nothing new there.

The Obligatory Politics Post

Politics are about to get really messy again. And so I’m not going to be mentioning my news sources and podcasts that I’ve been listening to on this blog. If you follow me on social media you still might see me talk about politics. But I wouldn’t count on it. Know that I just don’t think this is a good place for politics even if it is something as casual as where I get my news posts. I guess that’s the kind of world we live in. Once 2020 passes I may start talking about that stuff again.

All right, see you next week.

Blog Journal 9/18/19

Hello everyone, another week another blog journal. As far as life goes I’ve been working hard. Work has taken up most of my time again this week so I have had less time for writing. But I think that’s about to end soon, fingers crossed.

Poems and Things

It’s a normal week for poems. Tuesday and Thursday, this schedule is working out rather well for me so I think we’ll keep going with it. Next weeks blog journal won’t include information about the schedule since its normal now. I will only include this information if something different is happening that week. In addition I will try to keep blog journals going up on Wednesday, but if I can’t for whatever reason they will be going up on Friday instead.

Short Stories and Book progress

I’ve been brain storming ideas for short stories and working on that project but I have not had time to sit down and write anything out. So nothing like that is being posted this week–unless a miracle happens.

In addition I have made very little progress on writing my book. I’m still writing chapter 2 and that’s about as far as I’ve gotten. I’m going to have to take some writing days I think very soon if I have any hope of catching up on where I want to be. But right now that requires taking a day off as my weekends are filled with things. I do have a lot of free time on Friday’s after work though so maybe I’ll take a half writing day.

What am I reading and playing

I’m planning on taking more time for reading books next week and I even have a few picked out that I think might be interesting. My video game playing has been really limited and I’ve set a goal for myself. I want to have competed another play through of Pokemon Ultra Sun before Sword and Shield come out in November. I need to catch all the Pokemon from gen 7 to help my wife complete her Pokedex, because she says I have to….

That’s everything for this week everyone, I hope to see you all next week.
